To become a Microsoft Certified Professional you need to pass any one of Microsoft Certification exams.
Take a look at our Practice Tests section, to get more information about these exams.
Once you become a Microsoft Certified Professional, you receive the following benefits:
Industry recognition of your knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft products and technologies.
Access to
technical and product information directly from Microsoft through a secured
area of the MCP Web site.
MSDN Online Certified Membership, a free
program exclusively for MCPs, sponsored by MSDN Online. MSDN Online Certified
Membership helps you tap into the best technical resources, connect to the MCP
community, and gain access to valuable resources and services. (Some MSDN Online
benefits may be available in English only or may not be available in all
countries.) See the MSDN Web site for a growing list of certified member
benefits.
MCP logo, certificate, wallet card, and lapel pin to
enable you to identify your Microsoft Certified Professional status to
colleagues or clients.
Invitations to Microsoft conferences,
technical training sessions, and special events.
A free subscription
to Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine, a career and
professional development magazine. (Postage charges may apply outside the United
States.) Learn about how to begin your subscription. The Microsoft Certified
Professional credential also makes it easier to progress to Microsoft's premium
certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified
Database Administrator (MCDBA), and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer
(MCSD). A number of the core and elective exams are drawn from the pool of exams
required of MCSEs, MCDBAs, or MCSDs, allowing candidates who are pursuing a
premium certification to choose only those exams required to meet their goals.
The MCP credential provides a helpful "stepping stone" on the way to a premium
certification.
